On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Kampala, Uganda, the Darfur Youth Organization for Peace and Development, in partnership with SUDIA and the German organization CRISP, held a training workshop titled “Sudanese Youth Voices Summit.” This event is part of the 2024 United Nations Youth Delegates Program, funded by the German Foreign Ministry.
This program is part of the awareness campaigns for Sudanese youth, especially the team concerned with active youth participation, and their representatives in East Africa to develop their mandate in three main areas:
1. Youth in Peace and Security.
2. Youth and Unemployment.
3. Meaningful Youth Participation.
The workshop covered various topics to develop a draft for active youth participation, taking into consideration the challenges facing Sudanese youth, and proposing actionable recommendations and ideas to increase opportunities for youth integration in organizations and UN agencies.

Here I provide an update on the recent activities and progress made by Darfur Youth Centre for Peace and Development in our ongoing efforts to alleviate hunger and provide assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Refugees in Tawilla.
Since May 2024, our organization has been actively involved in addressing the critical needs of those who have fled from Al-Fashir City and Zamzam for the purpose of protection in Tawilla. from a generous donation from Norwegian People Aid, we have been able to support over 300 families in the Tawilla locality by providing essential food items to help alleviate their hardship.
Furthermore, on April 12, 2025, we initiated the establishment of a communal kitchen facility to cater to the nutritional needs of those affected by the recent escalation in Zamzam. This kitchen will serve as a vital resource in ensuring that food is readily available for those who are most vulnerable and in need of assistance.
